Spending this weekend making my way as a tiny spot on a GPS-map across the north of Spain. On Friday, I bussed from Toulouse to San Sebastian (my second time there) and stopped in for a DELICIOUS lunch at a wonderful restaurant called Casa Galicia, on recommendation from a nice man at the hostel I stayed at when last there.
A few hours later, I continued a couple more hours west to Santander where I spent the night in the home of a nice couple (through AirBnb). We shared a nice breakfast together in the morning and I got to practice my Spanish.
I’ve perfected this so far: mi español es no bueno, pero yo quiero mucho practicar!
I arrived yesterday evening in Oviedo and I’m in love with this little city! I’d be lying if I said the thought of teaching abroad after next year here in Spain never crossed my mind!! I leave this afternoon on the last leg of my trek across northern Spain.
Oh, did I mention I’m spending the month of July here? More specifically in Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain near the Portuguese border. I’ll be living with a family and working as an au pair with two adorable little Spanish girls. (Does that even surprise you?!)
I am LOVING Spain. I find the people so warm and helpful and happy to spend time tolerating my very limited Spanish.
Oh, and I’m positively LOCA for the comida and those cafes con leches. Muy delicioso!!
